Mahleeha Shahid & Whitby Specialty Food Bank 6th Annual Food & Toy Drive
Join us at Sprinkles and Dip for our Sixth Annual Food and Toy Drive, a gentle afternoon of community, kindness, and holiday hope. Enjoy a free hot chocolate or ice cream while dropping off toys, food, or winter essentials for neighbours who could use a little extra support this season. Every gift helps brighten a family’s table and reminds our community that no one walks alone.
Here at WSFB, we’ve seen how a simple act of kindness can warm an entire season. A neighbour stopping by with a toy. A bag of groceries placed quietly into a donation bin. A warm cup of hot chocolate shared with a smile. Every year, our Food and Toy Drive reminds us how much hope can grow when our community gathers with open hands and open hearts.
This December, we’re grateful to partner once again with Sprinkles and Dip and Regional Councillor Maleeha Shahid for our Sixth Annual Food and Toy Drive. It’s one of those afternoons that never feels rushed. Families linger. Kids laugh their way toward free ice cream. Friends wave across the parking lot. The whole day carries a gentle spirit of generosity.
Everyone is welcome to drop by between 1 and 4 p.m. for a free hot chocolate or ice cream. If you’re able, we invite you to bring something that can bless a neighbour who may be struggling this season. Sometimes hope comes tucked inside a food hamper or wrapped around a child’s shoulders on a cold morning.
Here are some items that make a real difference for families across Whitby and Durham:
New, unwrapped toys • Board games • Dolls and action figures • Books • Puzzles • Craft kits • Educational toys • Toy cars and trains • Sports balls
Non-perishable food items • Rice, pasta, and noodles • Canned soups and stews • Canned vegetables and fruit • Peanut butter and jam • Shelf-stable milk • Baby formula • Breakfast cereals • Holiday treats for families
Winter essentials • Hats and mittens • Scarves and gloves • Socks • Warm blankets • Children’s winter wear • Hand warmers • Toiletries and hygiene items
Every contribution collected will be delivered directly to the Whitby Specialty Food Bank, where gifts are shared with dignity and care. Your kindness helps lift the weight off families facing a hard season and reminds them they’re not alone.
Thank you for showing up. For giving what you can. For planting seeds of hope that stretch far beyond one afternoon. We can’t wait to gather with you.
